Many of the functions in Runner require specific permissions to be assigned to your account. If you are unable to perform a specific action for an asset that you need, please contact the asset owner to request for access or runner_help@spe.sony.com for additional assistance.
Usage Restriction is part of an asset’s metadata that indicates the specific limitations of the asset’s use or permissions. Asset’s with a Usage Restriction are tagged with a icon in folders/search, grid view, and on the asset’s respective detail page.
Favorite templates guides the user to select a metadata template to dock at the top of the metadata management page. Runner will remember your favorite template(s) until you unfavorite them. This is particularly useful for when you need quick access to a frequently used metadata template.
As a Runner Administrator, you have the ability to edit a profile that is under your administrative control. To access the Admin portal, click the gear icon in the top right of the Runner bar to select ‘Admin.’
Getting Started
Step 1: Click , and select ‘Admin’ from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Search for a user’s profile that you want to edit.
Note: The admin will only have access to edit users that are under their permissions.
Step 3: Select the user that needs to be edited, and click on ‘Edit Profile’ to edit the user’s profile. A modal will pop up for you to make the needed changes. After the changes have been made, click ‘Save and Close’.
Runner search operates like a relevance engine rather than an exact match tool. For example, if you search ‘Blacklist,’ the top result will be the asset that displays the word ‘Blacklist’ the most times in the asset’s metadata (filename, metadata, description, etc).
Advanced Usage Restriction helps provide clearance information of an asset.
Getting Started
Step 1: On the edit metadata page, navigate to the ‘Usage’ metadata field and click to access Advanced Usage Restriction.
Step 2: The Advanced Usage Restriction modal will appear. Select the Asset Class, Usage, Approved and Not Approved Clearance to create an Advanced Usage Restriction sentence.
Step 3: After you have made your selection, click ‘Apply’ and the Advanced Usage Restriction will apply to your selected asset(s).
Runner’s search engine uses asset metadata to navigate search results based on your search criteria. Searching within folders will all you to search for an asset within a selected folder.
Step 1: Enter your search term in the ‘Title Search’ bar. Assets returned will be displayed based on your search criteria and sorted by relevance.

Asset Status Icons
In Runner, different icons are used to indicate the file type and status of an asset. Please refer to the chart below for the list of asset indicator icons.
